July Favourites | Non-Beauty

With the goal to write more lifestyle posts this summer, I'm going to tell you my non-beauty favourites from July....

1. TUMBLR-  Tumblr is one of those websites I come and go from, I'll either completely obsess over it for a few months or not touch it at all. This past month I've been going on Tumblr for hours on end because its such an inspiring site for blog and Instagram posts and I find it way less confusing than Pintest (which is probably something I should be using as a blogger). I re-vamped my Tumblr this week using one of the themes by Classy-Lovely and I haven't stopped re-blogging things since. I'd like to increase my follower base on Tumblr so hopefully you can follow me, but its just a creative place for photography ideas and something anyone can easily become addicted too. My Tumblr is KatherineRosieBlog.

Summer Wishlist | August

July has absolutely flown by, the last few weeks before Summer went so quickly (gladly) and now its already come to the end of the first week of the six week holidays. I can tell its going to only feel like tomorrow by the time I am writing my September wishlist, but for now its on to August. The weather in Britain has untypically been a sauna these past few weeks, and when they said 'heat wave' I don't think I anticipated how long it would go on for (hopefully I won't speak too soon). I've never been a huge fan of the sun, its tiring and as I don't tan I pretty much moan in any hot temperature scenario. I don't have an abroad holiday booked for this year, but seen as though my cute eleven year old brother saved up to get us a bigger paddling pool I don't really mind - as long as I can cool myself down whenever I need too, it doesn't matter where I am.

ESPA Exfoliating Body Polish | Review

ESPA are a brand I had never heard of until I attended the Blog Yorkshire event on Saturday 12th July at Revolution Bar in Leeds. I am already completely in love with the brand, so much that I emailed them to let them know how much their products work for me. While getting a skin consultation at the counter, the girls who worked there asked myself and my friend Phoebe from FlawlessFlares to chose which smell we preferred from two different cotton pads. This was to determine which goodie bag we would be receiving in relation to our skin type. Of course I was given the one for dry and sensitive skin, and in my bag was a 100ml tube of their Exfoliating Body Polish - I was shocked we weren't given the sample size and were given the full size retailing at £18.50!

Kate Moss Rimmel Lipstick Shade 30 | Review

The Rimmel collection by Kate Moss has been circulating the beauty community for years now, but I've never bitten the bullet until recently. From watching Zoella's Vidcon vlogs, she was rocking the matte finish in the shade 107 which seems to be quite popular amongst blogging girls. I've heard really good things about these lipsticks, and while I've never been a fan of the formulation of Rimmel's lipsticks I thought I'd see if these were any different and whether they've upped their game since my younger makeup days.

SUMMER FITSPIRATION | Fitness, Exercise, Clothing & Motivation

Hearing the word 'exercise' is a word which makes the majority of us clench, reminding us we should be spending a few hours in the gym instead of lounging in front of the TV watching Netflix all day. Its not been until literally about a month and a half a go that I actually decided to give exercise a proper go and really try and maintain a healthy weight as now I'm getting older I can feel my metabolism slowing down - already. One thing I think which is important to stress is that you do not need to go to the gym to work out, I would personally love to go to the gym but the expenses of the gym itself and travel to get there just don't work out for me, so I'm stuck at home using what I've got around me to try and actually make a difference to my body. I'm not fitness expert, so I wouldn't worry if what I am doing is different to you as everyone has their own preferences.

Night Time Skincare & Pamper Routine | Summer Edition

Skincare isn't something I usually talk about on my blog, so I though seen as though recently I've got myself into a routine I would share it with you. It's safe to say bath time is my favourite time of the day, I never used to be a fan of baths but as I've got older they're perfect for completely relaxing you. I probably do spend too long in the bath, around 30-45 minutes and I do have one every night. I feel like pampering and cleansing makes my mind so much clearer and makes me feel more organised in my head as it's so therapeutic...aaah.

Blog Yorkshire Event Beauty Goodies | Blog Yorkshire Event July 12th

Blog Yorkshire was definitely the thing I was most looking forward to this July, which I attended last Saturday (July 12th). A while ago my friend Phoebe from FlawlessFlares and I booked our tickets to attend the Yorkshire Bloggers meetup hosted by the lovely Carrieanne from BeautiesUnlocked and Faith from MusicandEyeliner. Since the event has been announced their have been #blogyorkshire chats from their twitter page in which so many lovely bloggers have been involved which made me feel so much more at ease and less nervous to attend the event. It was my first blogging event which I was over the moon about as I have only been blogging since February, so it definitely made me feel like I have achieved a lot with my blog and come far in only a short space of time.

There were some amazing brands at the event on Saturday which included Espa, Allertons, Quiz, Country Attire, Pastille and Wyndsors. ESPA was a brand I was especially excited to try as their products are completely 100% the natural. The girls who were there representing the brand were completely lovely and explained how ESPA is completely British as it is manufactured over here in the UK - I especially love this as its nice to keep some tradition when it comes to the beauty industry. There were different goodie bags depending on your skin type, of course my skin is dry so therefore I ended up with the goodie bag with the products which aimed to remove dead skin and also smoothen it out, which I can't at all complain about. I am so surprised at how much ESPA gave to us as their products don't retail the cheapest..

Lips Need Exfoliating Too! | Lush Mint Julips Lip Exfoliator

When it comes to exfoliating, my lips tend to be my most missed out area. I often forget to exfoliate my lips, typically because they aren't that chapped or dry, but it definitely makes a huge difference when applying lipstick. The Lush Lip Scrubs are perfect for removing excess dry skin from your lips and are also 100% edible which is amaaazing when they are so tasty.

New Found Love | Maybelline 'The Falsies' Volume Express Mascara

Before I start this post, I need to make a quick apology in advance due to not taking my own photos for this post. I know there's nothing quite more irritating than a blogger who doesn't use their own photos, and I am a firm believer that all beauty blogs look and feel so much better when their own photos are used. But, I sneakily took this image of tumblr because my packaging of this mascara is completely ruined and it looks awful which wouldn't make a beautiful photo whatsoever, so I hope you can forgive me for using a tumblr photo in this post! of my long rambling introductions again, not keeping my content concise and to the point is one of my main struggles especially when it comes to writing essays in my school exams as I ALWAYS run out of time...but on to my new all time favourite mascara.

Makeup Revolution London Bronze Shimmer Highlight | Review

Continuing with the Makeup Revolution hype, I am posting about their new 'Bronze Shimmer Highlight' bronzing powder today. Oooh and happy July, June flew by way to fast and it's definitely going to be Christmas before I know it.

Well, Makeup Revolution London's 'Bronze, Shimmer, Highlight' has to be one of my new favourite products. This is the bronzer I have long been waiting for, its all round perfect from day to night and suits every season perfectly. Although, I do have to say the name 'Shimmer' is somewhat slightly misleading as I would definitely say this powder is further on the matte side. This product is perfect for the pale girls like myself as their are slight taupe/grey undertones to all the shades so it does not appear orange whatsoever, this is definitely a product made for contouring. The darker shades can be used alone to create a sharper more defined contour or all can be swirled together for an all over bronzed summer look.
